LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--  Indiana’s governor, Mike Pence, traveled to Corydon on Tuesday to begin an early celebration of the state’s 197th anniversary.

The governor talked about the pride of being a Hoosier and outlined his 2014 education agenda.

“We’re teaching, we’re passing along, we’re helping young people understand the rich heritage and the privilege of growing up in the greatest state in the greatest nation, the state of Indiana,” he said.

Before Pence took the stage, though, he was introduced as his predecessor, Mitch Daniels.  The announcer and Pence shared a laugh, along with the audience.
