BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WHAS11) – Indiana University is putting out a warning tonight to 146,000 students and recent graduates.

The University says personal information may have been compromised.

IU says it notified the attorney general’s office Tuesday of the potential hack of the names, addresses and social security numbers.

It says the data was accessed by three automated computer data mining applications used to improve internet search capabilities.
