ISP trooper injured after vehicle struck near Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WHAS11) – An Indiana State Police officer is recovering after police say he was struck while assisting with another accident on I-65 Northbound.

Police say Trooper Jason Duncan was blocking the right lane near the 76 mile marker with emergency lights on his police cruiser when a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by 19-year-old Karson Tays struck his vehicle.

Trooper Duncan was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital where he was treated for cuts and abrasions.

Tays was uninjured.

Police say no charges have been files and the crash remains under investigation.
