(WHAS11) -- The Indiana State Fair is raising admission prices and adding a parking charge for the first time.
The first rate hike since 2006 is happening this year. Gate admission at the fair has gone up from $8 to $10.
The fair took a financial hit after last year's deadly stage collapse that killed seven people and injured dozens more.
The fair is also adding a $5 charge to park inside the fairgrounds.
Fair officials say the price hikes are to pay for increased attractions and not to make up for the possibility of attendance and revenue losses due to fewer headline concerts this year.
The Indiana State Fair runs from August 3 through the August 19.
