DECKER, Ind. (WHAS11) – A Vincennes woman has been arrested after police say she was driving under the influence with her grandchildren causing an injury accident,

Police say the accident happened near U.S. 41 south of State Road 241 near Decker just before 9 a.m. Saturday.

According to the report, 40-year-old Brandy Parker was driving southbound on U.S. 41 when she drove off the road entering the median. Police say she overcorrected which caused her vehicle to go across both lanes of traffic where she struck a highway sign and an embankment.

Investigating officers say that they noticed Parker was impaired and later discovered she was under the influence of meth.

Police add that Parker’s two grandchildren, a three and a four-year-old, were only restrained by seatbelts. They were both taken to the hospital and later released.

Parker and her boyfriend were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Parker was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail where she’s facing driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license and child restraint violations.

Her bond is set for $5,000.
