NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11)—A southern Indiana restaurant has been torn down.

Sam’s Food and Spirits, once visited by George W. Bush, was demolished on Friday.

Crews used heavy equipment to tear down the walls that remained after a fire that destroyed the location.

That fire, happened after the restaurant closed on Dec. 9, 2013.

The restaurant will re-open next month at the  historic Plantation Montrose at 318 Lewis and Clark Pkwy in Clarksville.
