Ind. officers, dispatcher honored after ending grocery store shooting spree

ELKHART, Ind. (WHAS11) – 2 police officers and a dispatcher have been honored in their roles for ending a gunman’s deadly shooting spree inside a grocery store.

Police corporals Cody Skipper and Jason Tripp and dispatcher Justin Yoder were given plaques Sunday.

Tripp and Skipper were the first officers on the scene of the January attack and shootout where the gunman threatened to shoot the manager of Martin’s Supermarket.

Store employee Krystle Dikes and shopper Rachelle Godfread were killed in the shooting.
