Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A major drug dealer is off the streets of New Albany, federal authorities said.

Victor Hugo Ramirez, 40, was indicted for possession of meth with the intent to distribute.

Police said they had received a tip about Ramirez's drug activity a while back and had been keeping an eye on him.

In late March, police officers pulled over his white jeep near 7th and Culberston Avenue in New Albany. They found 720 grams of meth inside.

Officers said they aren't sure how much meth he's sold on both sides of the river, but said that they're glad he's off the streets.

If convicted, Ramirez could get anywhere from 10 years to life in prison.
