INDIANAPOLIS (WHAS11) – A measure designed to decrease the number of high school concussions gets the green light from the Indiana House.

The proposal would require high school athletes who suffer a concussion to sit out for at least 24 hours before returning to the field.

It would also require high school coaches to undergo training on the effects and signs of a concussion.

The measure now heads to negotiations between House and Senate lawmakers.
