LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) recently awarded a contract for sound barrier construction along Interstate 64 in Jefferson County. The barrier will be built on the north side of I-64 just west of Hurstbourne Parkway. This 1/3 mile section of sound barrier extends from Blairwood Tennis Club to just past Hogarth Drive.
Contract crews will begin work the week of January 27 installing work zone signs and clearing the sites of brush and other debris. Lane closures will be limited to evenings from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours.
Mac Construction was awarded the contract in the amount of $863,586. The project completion date is September 3, 2014.
