LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Dozens of individuals showed their love for gravy during an event benefiting children.
The second annual Gravy Cup at the Vernon Club showcased participants cooking traditional and creative gravy recipes with hungry visitors voting on their favorites.
The Gravy Cup benefited the Boys and Girls Haven which helps thousands of abandoned, abused and neglected children in the area.
“I noticed a real need. I wanted to put the funds where there would be an impact and I wanted to give it to where it would really be seen,” founder Zach Fry said.
In addition to the People’s Choice award, judges handed out honors for best traditional and non-traditional gravies on display.
