ELIZABETH, Ind. (WHAS11) -- It's a safe haven for neglected and abused horses and Buck Creek Valley Animal Rescue in Elizabeth, Indiana has 28 of them.

The owners of the property are now facing foreclosure. Ashley Burden, Director of Fundraising, said they are applying for a grant to purchase the property, but they are also accepting monetary donations.

The organization also has a Facebook petition in need of signatures for support and they are hosting an auction February 24 at noon to raise funds.

Buck Creek Valley can be reached at 812-972-3300.
