LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It was a sad day at Louisville’s Holy Family School as they close their doors for good after more than 90 years.

Students had their final classes at the catholic school on Poplar Level Road Friday morning. Students were chanting HFS as they left the building.

The sign in front of the school reads "Always family."

The school was closed because of money troubles and low enrollment.

One hundred twenty-nine students attended the school this year with the option of either transferring to Saint Stephen or other Catholic schools.

The Holy Family Preschool will remain open.
