HODGENVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--  The Hodgenville City Council voted unanimously to remove the current mayor from his post.

The council voted 6-0 on Thursday to remove Mayor Terry Cruse from his position. They then voted Kenny Devore to be the interim mayor, effective immediately.

Cruse and City Clerk Madonna Hornback are accused of using city gas cards to fill up their personal vehicles as well as giving themselves unauthorized pay raises and hiring their sons to work at the water plant.

The council did not vote on Hornback.
