LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Three fires within a few blocks of each other started around 8 a.m. Sunday morning and all were within the vicinity of a fire station.

Louisville Metro Firefighters were called to an apartment fire in the 3700 block of Noblitt Drive in Hikes Point and when they got there, they noticed a van was also on fire in front of the building.

“We could have lost everything we loved. Three of my family lives right in this building,” resident Vicki Higdon said. “We could have lost everything.”

Minutes after that fire, another van was in flames in the 300 block of Mid Dale Lane just a few blocks away.

Firefighters say they are not sure if these fires are connected but the circumstances are suspicious.

“It’s the likelihood of coincidence is very remote,” Lt. Col. Glen Nally said.

A man who lived inside the apartment building was taken to the hospital. He was found unconscious but breathing.

Four units were affected by the fire.
