Highway Dept. worker injured in hot mix asphalt explosion

CORYDON, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A Corydon man is recovering from burns after being injured while preparing to fill potholes.

It happened in Corydon at the Harrison County Highway Department garage.

The highway worker was reportedly with a crew preparing equipment when the hot mix they use for filling exploded.

The Highway Department supervisor drove the man to University Hospital where he is said to be in good condition.
