JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – A west coast hearing aid company is now calling southern Indiana home.

Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore and One Southern Indiana helped cut the ribbon during Tuesday’s grand opening of Zounds.

The company will occupy a 1200 square-foot facility on East 10th Street.

Zounds owner Dan Teague says he believes his company is filling a need in the community and is excited to be open in Jeffersonville.

“We're glad to be here in Jeffersonville in Indiana. It's a great location, a great spot. The people from 1SI and business development center have been great in working with me and getting started. We're hoping to really help the community,” Teague said.

Zounds’ headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona and is said to be one of the fastest growing hearing aid companies in the nation.

It has locations in 30 states including one in Louisville.

This is the company’s first store in southern Indiana.
