(ABC News) – A viral disease spread by mosquitoes is showing up in the U.S.
There have been more than 130 cases of the chikungunya virus reported, mainly in the southeastern part of the country.
The viral infection, originating in Africa, went to Asia, southern Europe and last year in the Caribbean which some Americans contracted there.
Symptoms of the chikungunya virus include fever, muscle ache, headache and a variety of rashes.
