CORYDON, Ind. (WHAS11) – The Harrison County Prosecutors Office is pleased to announce that the Harrison County Boys and Girls Club is a national finalist for a $20,000 cash prize.

It’s part of the Libman Clean it Forward giveaway.

In March, Libman Facebook fans nominated charitable organizations in need of help.

The club was chosen and still needs more votes to win the grand prize.

The Boys and Girls Club serves 75 to 80 kids a day and offers programming including mentoring programs and it’s something club president Otto Schalk says is important.

“For us to be able to give these mentorships, these programs make the world of difference and from the back end we aren’t seeing them again in criminal court,” Schalk said.

The winner of the giveaway will also get $5,000 for a cleanup project of their choice.
