(VINE GROVE, KY) – At approximately 8:12 a.m. Saturday, Kentucky State police received a call of shots fired near the 16000 block of Rineyville-Big Springs Road in Hardin County.  Around the same time, police received another call that an armed man came to a man's door, pointed a gun in his face and demanded the keys to his car.  The man complied and the suspect fled.

The investigation revealed that the shots fired came from Carolyn’s Corner Store in Big Springs.  The suspect attempted to rob the store and a struggle ensued with the employee over the suspect's weapon.  The employee was shot in the arm and the suspect fled the scene.

The employee was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was treated and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The suspect is still at large.  He is described as a white male wearing dark clothing with a white hoodie.  He may have fled in a stolen dark blue 1998 Buick LeSabre in an unknown direction.

The investigation is ongoing.  Police are still trying to determine whether the two incidents are related.
