LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—With just over two months until the Kentucky primary elections, the Secretary of State is urging people to sign up as precinct election officers.

Alison Lundergan Grimes, who is running for Senator Mitch McConnell’s seat,  said about 15,000 people are needed statewide to help run the election in May.

Duties for the position include arranging polling locations, with information and equipment, processing voters and completing paperwork for the County Clerk’s office.

Each precinct must have four election officers, who are paid at least $60 per election.
