GLENDALE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Glendale Fire Department, which has been inactive since Jonathan French was killed in the line of duty on August 6, will reopen at midnight on August 27.

Glendale Fire Chief Richard Peters says they thought now would be a good time to restart.

The Elizabethtown Fire Department gave Glendale a fire truck to get them operational again.
