LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – 11,275 and counting – that’s the number of acts of compassion pledged during WHAS11’s “Give a Day” telethon held for the Mayor’s week of service initiative.

April 12 through April 20 is the third annual “Give a Day” week for the city of Louisville.

The goal for the “Give a Day” week is 120,000 people volunteering and making donations.

In February and March, Wendy’s, Fazoli’s and Mark’s Feed Stores collected one dollar donations to help cover the cost of supplies needed for many community projects such as paint and plants.

The one dollar donations will go to help offset the cost of making the city a better place to live.
