LOUISVILLE Ky (WHAS11) -- "Girl Rising" a film narrated by Hollywood stars like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. It is the story of women around the world and their plight to be educated -- like the young girl in Afghanistan shot by the Taliban because she wanted to learn.
The University of Louisville is offering three free screenings. The event is sponsored by the UofL Women's Center and Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium.
You can see the film starting Thursday March 21 at 12:15, March 22 at 6 p.m. or March 24 at 3 p.m.
