The owner of the Clifton neighborhood restaurant called Genny's Diner has been given more time by a judge to find a buyer for a dilapidated house located next to his restaurant.
The Jefferson County Attorney's Office has prosecuted Faris for several years for not maintaining his property located on Frankfort Avenue.
He originally purchased the property intending to demolish it for parking but the house is considered an historic landmark.
Monday Faris came to court still without a resolution or a buyer and was given the choice to either make the repairs or sell the property to the city.
“This thing has got to be solved. I don't know why it's taken four years, but we are out of time,” said District Court Judge Sean Delhanty.
He gave Farris till March 1st to work out the sale of his property to the city or else he faces jail time.
