(WHAS11) -- Fort Knox police have confirmed that a controlled explosion occurred in their range at about 11:20 a.m.
Reports from Meade, Bullitt and Jefferson Counties flooded the WHAS11 newsroom after people heard a loud boom and felt an explosion that shook homes and buildings.
Fort Knox police say their training program had a controlled explosion this morning that was most likely carried further because of the low ceiling and the moisture in the air.
They have no more tests scheduled for today.
