LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Hundreds of people gathered at the Belvedere Sunday evening for a first-time hip-hop event featuring classic performers.

The Louisville FreshFest, presented by Cheerwine celebrates, hip-hop music while showing it can be a positive experience.

Those who were in attendance were treated to ‘80s and ‘90s old school artists such as Naughty by Nature, Chubb Rock, Special Ed and Monie Love to name a few.

One of MTV's iconic hosts of “Yo MTV Raps” Ed Lover hosted the event.

Organizers are hoping to make this an annual event and bring even bigger named acts in the years to come.

Note: We mentioned in our newscast that Fab Five Freddy was the host of the event but to clarify, it was Ed Lover who also hosted the program in the '90s.
