Houston, Tx. (WHAS) – Former President George H.W. Bush is in the hospital being treated with a bout of bronchitis.
The 88-year-old has been in Houston’s Methodist Hospital for nearly a week with a lingering cough.
A spokesperson says he hopes to be released by this weekend.
Bush has a form of Parkinson’s disease that affects his legs and requires him to use a wheelchair.
The World War II veteran is the oldest living former president.
He was hospitalized back in 2007 after a fainting spell caused by dehydration after a golfing trip in California.
