LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – With golfers arriving in the coming days for the PGA tournament, a Louisville golf legend was honored Sunday.
A mural of former PGA champion Bobby Nichols has been installed on the Watterson City East Building on Bishop Lane.
It’s part of the Hometown Heroes banner program.
Sunday also marked the 50th anniversary of Nichols’ 1964 PGA championship win.
Bobby’s son Rick spoke at the event saying he’s extremely proud of his dad and of Louisville.
The Hometown Heroes banner program was founded by the Greater Louisville Pride Foundation.
The first mural featured in the city was of boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
