(WHAS11)-- The former executive director of University of Louisville’s Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine was indicted Wednesday by a federal Grand Jury.
Perry Vaughn is accused of stealing more than $2.8 million in patient payments due to the medical center's account.
Investigators said it was part of the nearly six year scheme. Vaughn used the money for his personal use.
Vaughn is also charged with money laundering, mail fraud and filing false federal income tax returns.
