LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Louisville Archdiocese has confirmed that a former teacher at St. Raphael Elementary School has been arrested on sexual abuse charges.
56-year-old Phillip Dale Anderson was arrested on Friday after a man told Metro Police that he was abused as a boy at the parish school.
The archdiocese says Anderson taught at St. Raphael from 1981 to 1993 and was also a football coach at Trinity High School.
The alleged victim told police that he was between the ages of 11 and 14 when the abuse took place although the archdiocese says there were no reports of abuse in Anderson’s file and no indications of problems.
Anderson, who now lives in Somerset, was arrested by Metro Police and released on his own recognizance.
