Fmr. Metro Housing director, mother enter plea deal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A plea deal has been reached for the former Louisville Metro Housing director and her mother.

Kimberly Bunton and her mother, Vickie Smallwood, entered an Alford plea on misdemeanor theft charges.

Both women are accused of stealing approximately $2,000 from the city to help pay Smallwood's mortgage.

Under the deal the women agreed to a suspended sentence and probation. Also, they must pay back nearly $9,000.
