LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A new environmental report has published findings that Floyds Fork Park has parts of its river that are full of bacteria.
The Kentucky Division of Water has found either e-coli or fecal coliform in 18 different segments of Floyds Fork. These 18 bacterial segments reach into Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Spencer, Shelby and Henry counties.
This years water report includes 9 new segments. This means that Floyds Fork's streams are not safe for swimming, boating or wading.
The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet is now accepting public comment on the issue through July 29.
