PROSPECT, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The fire happened just before midnight at a home near Wolf Pen Branch Road in Prospect, Ky. on Monday, July 7.

The mansion was still under construction and no one was living there yet.

Numerous fire crews showed up to help battle the fire for hours overnight. More than 50 firefighters from nine fire departments responded to the call.

On Tuesday firefighters continued to battle the blaze.

“It took us about three hours to get the initial fire under control,” Worthington Fire and Rescue Chief Kevin Groody said.

No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday strong winds made the fire difficult to manage.

Jeff Winters, with Bladerunners Lawn Service, maintains the lawn for this property’s owner and is sad that this happened.

“A very, very awesome guy and I am so sad that this has happened to him. I just come out here to pay my respects,” Winters said.

As of now there is no word on when the investigation will be complete.

“Sometimes things like this can take days…you have all the debris inside the building on top of itself. We cannot physically make entry,” Groody said.
