Louisville, Ky. (WHAS) -- The Buechel Fire Marshal admitted to responding to a WHAS11 story earlier this week and kicked out four families living in an apartment building on Beechbrook Drive, which has been without a working electrical supply unit since Sept. 24.
That's when a driver fleeing from police crashed into the building. Generators were provided by the landlord but on Oct. 10 the Fire Marshal ordered them taken away, because they were against code.
The Fire Marshal designated the building a "dangerous structure" because he said it is without working smoke detectors.
The families have been staying without lights and heat, because they say they couldn't afford to move.
