(WHAS11) - WHAS11 News has another breach of security to warn the public about concerning a local bank.

This time Fifth Third is telling customers to destroy their debit cards.

Fifth Third customers got a letter in the mail this week saying there was a breach at a third-party payments company.

As a result, debit cards may have been compromised.

Fifth Third says it will keep current cards open for use until April 20th.

New cards should arrive within the next ten days.

When you receive your new card begin using it immediately and destroy your old debit card.

On Wednesday April 21st, all current cards will no longer be valid for purchases.
