LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- One person is dead after an early morning motorcycle accident on the Gene Snyder.
It happened on the westbound lanes near New Cut Road around 3:30 a.m.
LMPD said a man, identified by the coroner as 22-year-old Nicholas M. Jeanes, was speeding on a motorcycle along the Snyder when he lost control, hit a guard rail and was thrown from the bike. Police also said he was not wearing a helmet.
The coroner said Jeanes died from multiple blunt force injuries.
Detectives say it is too early to tell if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash.
So far this year, 397 people have died in fatal accidents on Kentucky roadways.
