CARROLL CO., Ky. (WHAS11) -- One person was killed and two were injured in a single vehicle crash Sunday on I-71 North in Carroll County.
William Wildeboer, 56, of Woodlawn was driving north on I-71 around 6:30 p.m. when he swerved to miss debris in the roadway and flipped several times before his vehicle landed in a ditch. Wildeboer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner.
A passenger in the vehicle, Mary Wildeboer, 51, of Woodlawn was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A second passenger, Jesse Wildeboer, 12, of Woodlawn was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville with life-threatening injuries.
Everyone in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
I-71 northbound in Carroll County was shut down during the investigation and reopened several hours later.
