LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two things that are truly Kentucky- fast horses and fine bourbon- are coming together to honor the 40th anniversary of Secretariat's Triple Crown win.

Five-hundred bourbon decanters are being made, featuring the likeness of Secretariat with jockey Ron Turcotte. The 750 mL decanter will be filled with Four Roses Bourbon.

They will only be sold at the Kentucky Derby Museum. The decanter will be released on May 1.

Penny Chenery will select the bourbon that will fill the decanters.

"Fast horses and fine Bourbon are two of my favorite things. I am delighted to partner with Four Roses and the Kentucky Derby Museum in lending Secretariat's name to this very special decanter for racing fans and Bourbon connoisseurs alike," Chenery said.

The bourbon tasting event on May 1st will be the only opportunity to purchase a signed version of the decanter for $320.00. The signed bourbon decanter can be reserved online on a first-come basis with the purchase of an event ticket for $50.00. All decanters must be picked up at the Kentucky Derby Museum due to federal shipping restrictions on alcohol distribution.

In addition to the exclusive decanter celebrating Secretariat's 1973 Triple Crown, Four Roses will publicly release a special barrel selection, limited edition Secretariat bottle.

The commemorative bottle will feature Secretariat and be adorned with the distinctive blue and white checks of the famed Meadow Stable silks. With limited distribution at select stores along the Triple Crown trail in Kentucky, Maryland and New York. It will also be available for purchase in advance at the Derby Museum.

Proceeds from the sale of both bottles will be dedicated to preserving the history of the Kentucky Derby at the Kentucky Derby Museum and to the Secretariat Foundation benefiting equine-related causes within the racing industry.
