LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Family and friends gathered in west Louisville Sunday to remember a teenager gunned down in a drug store parking one year ago.

17-year-old Darius Miller was gunned down at the Walgreens store at 35th and Broadway in the Shawnee neighborhood where his family met to raise awareness of gun violence in his memory.

“It’s been a rough year. It’s been a real hard, rough year for me, my family [and] those who loved my son,” Darius Miller Sr. said.

Miller was described by his family as a respectful young man who was an avid fan of sports. He left behind a one-year-old daughter.

22-year-olds Destiny Trusty and Kyle Chambers are facing charges in connection with Miller’s murder.
