HILLVIEW, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Almost a week after a hit and run accident critically injured two motorcyclists Hillview police now say they have a person of interest. Hillview police say the driver of the car ran away after hitting the motorcyclists. The family of one of the most critically injured spoke to WHAS11 's Claudia Coffey.
One of the cyclists, Johhny Tolliver, has a passion for riding his Harley. Johnny was just doing what he loved with two friends last Friday. They were all on their bikes leaving the Brooks exit and getting onto I-65 when police say a maroon car with Indiana tags slammed into two of the bikes.
"Johnny took full impact on the car, hit it and then flew onto the other side of the car," said Linda Tolliver.
The other motorcyclist suffered numerous broken bones but was released this week. Johnny remains sedated in intensive care. He is on a breathing tube and has broken legs, a broken pelvis and some head injuries.
"The pelvis is fractured everywhere so I don't know what they are going to do with that. Ribs are cracked, his head, the back of it, is banged up. He has many staples we have no idea how many," said Linda.
Hillview police say two passengers were in the car that hit the motorcyclists. Wendy Dishman, 44, was arrested for hindering the investigation. Police say the driver ran away on foot. Johnny's parents have a message for the person responsible and anyone who may have seen what happened.
"He's a coward if he got out of the car and ran and I want him caught. There is somebody out there that knows information on this and I want them to come forward. I would like them to come forward," said Tolliver.
Hillview police say they are getting closer they are executing a search warrant for a cell phone that may provide them with the info they need to make an arrest. If you have any information call the Hillview Police at 955-6808
