NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11)—It’s been a long two months for the Hughes family, but they are happy tonight that Tatyana is back home with family.

5-year-old Hughes walked out of Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis Friday afternoon.

After 62 days hoping, wishing, and praying for her recovery she was able to make the trek home to a sea of loved ones that lined up to be the first to welcome her home.

Teresa Hughes has been by her daughter's bed side in the hospital’s burn ward for the last 62 days. The only one that was more anxious than she is to be home, Tatyana.

Loved ones said they prayed about it, cried over it  and always put on a strong face, but Tatyana’s grandmother, Marie Clark, admitted they sometimes thought this day would never come.

Clark said today marks not just her granddaughter’s recovery, but that of her daughter. The ear to ear grin Teresa’s worn since stepping out of the car is a smile that's been rare since her three other children died in the same fire that burned most of Tatyana’s body.

Tatyana was happy to be able to stop and get a treat for lunch that she’s been craving during her recovery, a cheeseburger from McDonalds.

It’s unclear exactly how much she understands right now about the first and her three siblings, but the family is thrilled she is out of the hospital and home with them.
