(WHAS11) – The family of a two-year-old boy says he was not allowed on a ride at the fair in California because he’s autistic.

The fair disputes their claim saying that’s not what happened.

Daneall Delgadillo says Wednesday started out as a good day with her family heading to the fair.

She says her husband rode most of the rides with two-year-old Jaziah since he’s autistic and can’t be alone.

Delgadillo says things went wrong when Jaziah wanted to get on the Chopper Hopper.

“They were at first saying he was too small and an adult had to go with him and my husband said well I’m going to go with him. We won’t allow him to go on a ride because he’s autistic,” Delgadillo said. “That’s when the carnie said no disabled kids no. He needs to go, like telling my husband he needs to get off the ride.”

A representative for the fair did call the Delgadillo family and offered them a free day at the fair. The family accepted.

The worker is not getting fired but he will be re-trained on the company’s policies.
