Engines roar as National Street Rod Association returns to Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The sounds of engines can only mean one thing in Louisville, the National Street Rod Association is back!

The association is celebrating its 45th anniversary. Louisville has been a part of it for 20.

Thirty of the vintage cars started with a parade earlier on Wednesday from Papa John's Cardinal Stadium to Fourth Street----led by the Kentucky Speedway's official pace car.

Up to 15,000 vintage cars will be in town for the big show that officially starts on Thursday, July 31.

The show continues August 1 until 7 p.m. and ends August 2 (8 a.m. until 3 p.m.) at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

Admission is $15 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and children under 6 are free.

There is a $2 discount available for military, seniors (60 and over), Kroger Card holders and UPS Employees. One discount per ticket and ID is required.
