LOUISVILLE, Ky. – An apparent tragic accident took the life of a 50-year-old Frankfort man Monday afternoon.

A Jefferson County deputy Coroner tells WHAS11 Norman Kiper was killed while he sat at his desk near the service area of Bill Collins Ford in the 4200 block of Bardstown Road.  Another employee of the dealership was bringing in a handicapped-equipped car into the service center when he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.  The car momentarily pinned Kiper against his desk.

Kiper was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating because, according to coroner, they investigate any unnatural death.

No funeral arrangements have been set.
