LOUISVILLE, Ky, (WHAS11) -- Emergency crews have rescued a construction worker who fell into a hole on Shelbyville Road, across the street from Oxmoor Center.
Sky11 was over the scene and it appears to be some type of construction site. Doug Proffitt said the site is a former gas station and the hole resulted from crews removing underground gas tanks.
Video from Sky11 showed rescue workers in the hole with the victim while they lowered a stokes basket into the area to secure the man.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the man, who has yet to be identified, was removed from the hole in the basket and was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
