Louisville, Ky. (WHAS) – Christmas came early for some kids in Eastern Kentucky this weekend.
The Santa Train rolled into town and families lined up to see what Santa would bring them.
The train made 14 stops through the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee to give out nearly 15 tons of gifts for needy children and their families.
“Seeing the little kids that enjoy Santa so much and believe in the spirit of Christmas, and seeing maybe some kids that otherwise maybe wouldn’t have a gift,” Carla Groleau of CSX said.
This year marked the train's 70th annual ride through the Appalachian Mountains.
