LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Students and staff attending Eastern High School are celebrating new improvements after a year and a half of renovations.
The renovations were done to ease congestion in hallways for more than 2,100 students that attend.
Some of the features include an improved media center, an auditorium and 13 more classrooms.
“You can see that Eastern is a hub of 21st century learning. A more technology friendly media center, 13 new class rooms, space for the schools information and technology professional career theme a renovated HVAC system and of course the main street corridor,” JCPS superintendent Donna Hargens said.
The students also created a time capsule with things unique to Eastern High School.
The project is said to have cost an estimated $31 million.
