(WHAS11) -- Donald Trump has offered to foot the bill to bring back the White House tours.
The tours have been canceled because of the sequester, the federal spending cuts that took effect on March 1. This move saves $74,000 a week which is the cost of paying 37 uniformed officers to secure the tour route.
Last week Newt Gingrich tweeted that trump had the money to pay for the tours. On Monday Trump said, "that sounds reasonable to me...why not?"
