LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Dozens of people in Louisville got to shop with a very familiar face Friday; World News anchor Diane Sawyer, who grew up in Louisville.

Sawyer was at the Valu-Market near Mid City Mall on Bardstown Road, where she was able to do some quick grocery shopping; she was joined by her mother, Jean Sawyer Hayes.  However, she is really here working on a story, and Valu-Market is going to be a part of that series.

Next week, World News is doing a series called Going Home, where the reporters go back to their hometowns to feature local businesses.  While she was in town, she also made a trip to the Brown Hotel, where she met with workers, made a hot brown, and profiled the hotel's efforts to keep employees on the job.

Sawyer's story on her trip back to Louisville is expected to air during World News with Diane Sawyer Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. on WHAS11 News.
